For every action......

OK folks I too am getting tired of the cliches...but I am really starting to wonder. First things first: we hit Fresh Air BBQ Friday night. It was good. If you ever get a chance eat there......yum!No doubt as to why they have won awards. I did begin to wonder why they called it Fresh Air about two hours after we ate there. Best I can tell someone was being sarcastic. But dinner was good and we went to bed. Rise and shine Sat morning...ate breakfast hit the local KFC and decided to find a local camp ground and wander the trails (They claimed it was only 1.25 miles but I don't think so and neither do my feet): This is the shot I forced them to pose for:

I have no idea why Hubby's tongue looks black. I have seen his birth certificate...no chow in him.I like the new banner up top better but this is cute too.

Popstar liked the minnows and frogs:

She did not like being interupted to take a picture.
Smooch was mostly content to sit and watch:

Pie found pay dirt in the form of a youth group touring the area....And was willing to swim for his supper:God help me I felt like yelling "He's only 12!!" But Hubby, having been 12 himself once, wouldn't let me. Now had it been one of the girls Hubby would have been chunking rocks. Youth group or not.
Had a wonderful time. Will be going back soon.
But as the saying goes:
No good deed goes unpunished:
30 pack of beer cause it's Saturday and Ga doesn't sell on Sunday: $14.99
Two packs of Winstons: $5.69

Two new tires: $140.00

Popstars new vocabulary addition: priceless

Ain't life grand?????????????????

Whats wrong with this picture???

And he's all mine........

Life Explained...Another Gem from the desk of Dad

I really wonder where he gets this stuff:

The first day, God created the dog and said:

'Sit all day by the door of your house and bark at anyone who comes in or walks past. For this, I will give you a life span of twenty years.'

The dog said: 'That's a long time to be barking. How about only ten years and I'll give you back the other ten?'

So God agreed.

On the second day, God created the monkey and said:

'Entertain people, do tricks, and make them laugh. For this, I'll give you a twenty-year life span.'

The monkey said: 'Monkey tricks for twenty years? That's a pretty long time to perform. How about I give you back ten like the Dog did?'

And God agreed.

On the third day, God created the cow and said:

'You must go into the field with the farmer all day long and suffer under the sun, have calves and give milk to support the farmer's family. For this, I will give you a life span of sixty years.'

The cow said: 'That's kind of a tough life you want me to live for sixty years. How about twenty and I'll give back the other forty?'

And God agreed again.

On the fourth day, God created man and said:

'Eat, sleep, play, marry and enjoy your life. For this, I'll give you twenty years.'

But man said: 'Only twenty years? Could you possibly give me my twenty, the forty the cow gave back, the ten the monkey gave back, and the ten the dog gave back; that makes eighty, okay?'

'Okay,' said God, 'You asked for it.'

So that is why for our first twenty years we eat, sleep, play and enjoy ourselves. For the next forty years we slave in the sun to support our family. For the next ten years we do monkey tricks to entertain the grandchildren. And for the last ten years we sit on the front porch and bark at everyone.

Life has now been explained to you.

There is no need to thank me for this valuable information.

I'm doing it as a public service.

It was the best of times........

*** WARNING: GRAPHIC YUCKY PICTURES AT THE END OF THIS POST. STOP AT MALE BONDING IF YOUR EATING*****
Saturday we hit a local nature preserve. It was way fun. Like we will go back with a picnic more than once kinda fun. We actually only saw a small part of it but it was hot and muggy from the rain and we were not prepared, really, to hang out all day:

I got a shot of the almost all standing still and almost smiling in spite of them selves but still trying to look bored children:

I got a shot of the rules don't refer to me Daddy...not so rare as it could be..........

And this is a beauty:

We harvested what I think are either scuppernogs or muscadines:

We tried to look bored again and didn't quite make it in time....my shutter is faster than hers...lol...but not by much...
We petted goats:
And got some great shots of a viscous black Pooh Bear:
And a Great Horned Owl:

Whooooo(sorry) prompted a male bonding thru hand noises session:

We had a wonderful time and I took way to many pics to post them all. I literally filled a 512 SD chip and could have taken so many more.

So we got home that night and played with neighbors down by the lake and all was still well. Got up Sunday made fried chicken and to finish recovering from Saturday decided to go for a swim at Grandma and Grandpas. That's when things went tragically down hill. It started with a small snake that was slithering toward Popstar and ended in the ER:

So far they have just glued it closed. The problem was that it was deep as well as long. But if he doesn't behave we have to go back for stitches so I figure we'll be back around Wed- Thurs at the latest. Cest La Vie. All good things must come to an end...lol. The worst part is he just got a raise on Fri. after only two weeks. So there was NO CALLING IN on Monday. But he is trying to take it easy and come home early instead of staying and doing grunt work. We shall see.

While I ramble on......

I actually have nothing to say. But I also have nothing to do- so here I am. I have however noticed that I am posting a lot of nothing lately so I am trying to think of something to say. And I am not doing a very good job. Not much has been post worthy lately. We are pretty much just hanging out at home. With Hubby's new job came the end of vehicular availability for me as we only have one now. So no running around. Though I do have to go to the library tomorrow or I will be zapped for fines....hmmmm.....

This is getting sad folks.

We did however combine two of our favorite activites the other day:

Swimming and playing in the rain!

Hey we were there- we were wet...we were not going to get any dryer if we got out....and there was no lightning.
Yes my Mother taught me to come in out of the rain. But you'll notice you don't actually see me in these pictures. Nope I was under the canopy in a chair all nice and dry. Hey...somebody has to take pictures......
